Clark County is the most populous and economically influential county in Nevada, home to the Las Vegas Valley and the state’s primary metropolitan center. With cities and large unincorporated communities including Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Paradise, Enterprise, Spring Valley, Summerlin, and Sunrise Manor, Clark County houses the majority of Nevada’s population and economic activity. Its landscape combines urban density, desert plains, mountain ranges, lakefront areas, and protected natural regions such as Red Rock Canyon and Sloan Canyon. The county borders California and Arizona, linking Nevada to major interstate and regional routes through I-15, U.S. 95, and U.S. 93.
The economy is driven by tourism, gaming, entertainment, hospitality, sports, conventions, logistics, and rapidly expanding residential development. Casinos, entertainment districts, professional sports arenas, and international attractions make the Las Vegas Strip one of the most recognized urban corridors in the world. At the same time, Clark County includes significant suburban communities with schools, parks, master-planned neighborhoods, and business districts that support everyday local life. Lake Mead National Recreation Area adds large-scale outdoor access for boating, hiking, and desert exploration. The presence of McCarran International Airport, Hoover Dam, major distribution centers, and major sports infrastructure (including NFL and NHL franchises) highlight Clark County’s regional and national significance. The county continues to serve as the engine of Nevada’s growth, economy, culture, and transportation networks.
